Is Bandaje Falls Trek open for trekking right now?

Do I need a permit, and can I buy one at the gate?
You need a permit and you cannot buy one at the gate. Permits for this trail are issued only through the Karnataka Forest Department’s Aranya Vihara portal, and each date has a fixed daily limit set by the division. Carry the same photo ID you booked with, because the check post matches it against the permit.
Why does a date show as “not opened”?
It means the division has not released that date, or has withdrawn it after release. That is usually weather, fire risk, wildlife movement or trail maintenance. It is not an error on the portal, and there is no way to book a date in that state.
How far ahead can I book?
Thirty days, no further. A new date opens at 12:00 AM exactly thirty days before the trek, and popular weekend dates are taken within minutes of opening. If you need a specific Saturday, be on the portal at midnight.
How hard is this trail?
The Forest Department grades it 3 of 3, which puts it in the hard band. Expect 12 km, about 6 hours on the trail. Times vary with the weather and how much the monsoon has cut up the path.
