Kumara Parvatha — “KP” to those who’ve survived it — is one of the toughest and most rewarding treks in Karnataka. Rising above the temple town of Kukke Subramanya in the Western Ghats, it rewards a brutal climb with endless rolling grasslands, shola forests and some of the finest ridgeline views in South India.

Before you go
- It is a genuinely strenuous trek — come with basic fitness and broken-in shoes.
- Forest-department entry permits are required; we handle these for you.
- Carry at least 3L of water; refill points are limited.
- Two routes exist — the classic Kukke Subramanya climb and the gentler Somwarpet approach.
